3/0 welding cable, or “three-aught,” is rated for extremely high amperage applications, often between 300 and 350 amps. This size is used in high-capacity welding jobs, such as structural steel work, pipeline welding, and automated welding systems. It’s also favored in high-demand battery bank installations for commercial power systems. Due to its size, it is heavier and slightly less flexible than smaller cables but remains more pliable than standard power cable of the same gauge.
