4/0 (four-aught) welding cable is one of the largest and most powerful welding cables in commercial use, handling 350 to 400+ amps depending on conditions. It is typically found in large-scale welding operations, industrial battery banks, and generator-to-power distribution hook-ups. Despite its size, 4/0 cable is still made with fine-stranded copper to maintain reasonable flexibility. It is commonly used when voltage drop must be minimized over long cable runs.
